• The Chairman of Asharqia Chamber: The leadership's determination is clear towards achieving the objectives of Vision 2030

    The Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, confirmed the determination of the wise leadership that seems clear towards achieving the objectives of Vision 2030.

    It is obvious that the Kingdom is moving steadily towards completing the system of economic and structural reforms in the national economy that is in line with the objectives and aspirations of the vision to diversify the economic base and optimize the utilization of available resources, which is translated into a series of decisions that come in succession.

     

    AlKhalidi pointed out that the approval of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in the establishment of the General Authority for Foreign Trade and the organization of the National Competitiveness Center in addition to the previous declarations concerning the establishment of specialized bodies and entities that are all to improve the business and investment environment in the Kingdom.

    On behalf of the business sector, he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince for their keenness and hard work to support the national economy and develop mechanisms of procedural and organizational growth and their interest in the private sector through pushing it to play its role in the march of sustainable development.

     

    AlKhalidi said that these entities will contribute effectively to the strengthening of the local economy and the protection of national products from harmful practices of international trade and give the private sector more additional features in the exercise of its work and participate effectively in the march of the national economy.

    He pointed out that the Foreign Trade Authority will have an influential role that will positively affect the private sector in its entry into foreign markets without obstacles or challenges, which certainly raises the sector's contribution to foreign trade and achieves diversity in goods and services.

     

    Al-Khalidi said that the establishment of the National Center for Competitiveness and the tasks related to (follow-up, review, monitoring and analysis) is an important step in enhancing the competitiveness of the Kingdom and confirming its progress in global indicators and reports.

    He pointed out that the Kingdom ranked 39 out of 140 countries around the world in the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the World Economic Forum in 2018, as the establishment of such center will support the continuity of progress of the Kingdom in the global indices also improve and develop the competitive environment in the Kingdom.​
